• A claims helpline available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with specialists to personally see your claim through to completion;
• Claims settled on a new for old basis (except clothing and household linen);
• Minimum 12 month guarantee on all repairs and replacement goods arranged by us.
• In the case of an emergency we guarantee to board up, and make locks safe within three hours of a supplier being appointed.
• Where they've agreed to reimburse you, they'll issue a cheque within two working days of finalising your claim or they'll give you £50*.

And if your current insurer charges you for switching to Barclays they will refund you up to £25.**

Do you qualify?

To be able to complete a Barclays Home Insurance quote online, you must be aged 18 or over and able to confirm that:

The property to be insured:

• Is your main residence and not let or occupied by paying guests.
• Is not a listed building.
• Has no more than five bedrooms.
• Is in a good state of repair with no past subsidence or underpinning and is of standard construction (eg brick, stone or concrete and roofed with tile or slate).
• Is not in an area that has been flooded in the past.
• Is not used for business purposes.
• Is not unoccupied for more than 40 consecutive days per year.
• For contents cover only, that you do not have more than £50,000 of contents or £10,000 of valuables.

You and anyone usually living with you:

• Have not suffered any loss or incident in the last four years (except for one claim under £250) whether or not your home was insured.
• Have never had any insurance cancelled, refused or declared void or had any special terms or conditions imposed by another insurer.
• Have never been convicted of or charged with (but not yet tried) any non-motoring offence.
• Do not have one of the following occupations: childminder, professional entertainer, musician, professional sportsman or woman - including trainers, jewellery or antique dealer, student.

If either of the following circumstances apply we are unable to provide online quotes for buildings insurance and the quote generated will be for contents insurance only:

• Your property is a flat or a maisonette.
• You are a tenant.
